At Weirton Heights FMC we believe that it's not about "church as usual." Church is not about dressing up, and learning to follow rules, or becoming religious. You won't find "religion" here, but you will find a relationship with your Creator.
We know the world has plenty of religious people. We are about real people, learning to live in relationship with a real God who loves and cares about them.
We believe the local church is still the vital core for effective ministry. Not to be confused with a building or facility, the local church is simply a network of people committed to fulfilling the work of God.
We believe the church has three purposes: (1) to introduce the lost to Christ; (2) to provide an environment for worshiping God and fellowshipping with others who hold similar values and love for God; and (3) to effectively train and nurture believers.
We feel if we as Christians are to maintain our walk with God, we must submit ourselves to His Word and be Godly examples firmly rooted in our faith. These goals can best be accomplished through a warm and caring body of believers – the local church.
Through practical teaching we strive together to learn and understand God's plan of salvation and his desire for our lives. I hope to see you there and if you come visit, remember, Come… just as you are.
